THE PHILOSOPHY
I got my start in photography in a bit of an unlikely way. As an art student in college, I became obsessed with photographing insects. A friend liked my bug photos so much that she hired me to photograph her wedding. She said, "Evan, if you can make a bug look that good, I know you can make me look great!"
The wedding planner was pretty skeptical—after all, I had never photographed a wedding before. When my photographs from that wedding were featured in Rocky Mountain Bride magazine, I won the wedding planner over, and I figured I was on to something.
It's been over a decade since that first wedding, and I still can't believe I get to document such a meaningful day in people's lives. It really is my honor and joy delivering work that truly matters to couples whose love I find inspiring.

A client once flew me out to Hawaii to photograph her private beach elopement. Besides the bride, groom, and officiant, I was the only other person on the beach.

I’m a calming presence, providing confident—but unobtrusive—direction. I love being a grounding force on your day—and I live for the effortlessness that happens when you’re comfortable enough to enjoy the moment together without a care in the world. Kicking your shoes off and running through the grass at sunset? Yes, please.

I’m constantly refining my skills and digging deeper into my craft in order to deliver imagery that holds its own in the industry and holds a cherished spot in your heart. I love trying new techniques, experimenting with new equipment, and challenging myself to grow in this artform.
